Today you turned three! I can't believe it either. We woke up to a blizzard, which is totally appropriate. I swear there has been a snow storm each year on this very day.
You've been asking the last couple months for a garbage truck for your birthday. I thought it was a funny request, but it fit because you love playing with trucks, and you especially LOVE it when the garbage man comes to our house to pick up the garbage. So anyway, I found the perfect garbage truck. It makes noise, it has two garbage cans that comes with it, and it raises and lowers the cans as well. I thought you'd be so excited. Dad was excited about giving you your very own gun (riffle). It would of course be fake, but Dad wanted it to look authentic. So he picked one up at Sportsman's Warehouse a few weeks ago, and we've been so excited to give that to you as well.
So you woke up this morning, and I said "Happy Birthday!" You said "Mom, did you get some presents for me?!" You were so excited and ran out to the table to see what was there. You opened the gun first, and you were ecstatic! You immediately knew what to do! You looked like a natural. I was smiling non-stop at all the cute things you were saying and doing. Amber was excited for you to open your next present, but you said "no thanks, you can." You were so excited about your gun, nothing else mattered!
We ate breakfast cake, played with your gun, took Amber to preschool, played some more, watched Toy Story, picked up Amber from preschool, ate more breakfast cake, had some quiet time, played more with your gun, and then Dad got home so we could go to dinner. We wanted to go to a Pirate Restaurant in Orem, but with this crazy weather we didn't want to make the trek, so we went to Golden Corral (All you can eat buffet). It was a hit! All the food you could want, and best of all you got to choose! You ate mac and cheese, gummy bears, a roll, ham, french fries, and some peaches and grapes. You were happy! In fact you were talking so loud and yelling across the restaurant about all the things you were eating and what you wanted to eat, and were asking me not to eat all your food. It was funny!
We had cake and ice cream tonight with some family. Uncle Aaron was in town, so he came with us to dinner, and then came over for cake/ice cream tonight. You LOVED having everyone sing to you. It was the highlight I'm pretty sure. You get so excited to blow out your candles. It's hilarious!
You got a "Cars" book that has a movie projector with it from Grandma and Grandpa along with $10.00, and some "Cars" from Grammy and Grandpa (four different Cars, Mator, Sheriff, and two others I can't remember!). Anyway, you were excited about your presents.
Here are some of the latest things most memorable about you...
You are totally in to "Toy Story" lately and Buzz Lightyear. You like to pretend to be Buzz, and say "To infibinnie and Beyond!" It's adorable. You have such an imagination, and can find fun with anything in your hand (toilet paper roll, a penny, a hook, a magnet...pretty much anything!). You love to take walks/hikes, and find so much joy in being outside. You are so much like your dad! You are more of a mommy's boy, and don't like me to leave you (with babysitters, dad, nursery, etc.). You are such a happy, fun, energetic boy. Everyone loves to be around you. I think you are the favorite at nursery. Everyone gets so excited when you come around. It's really cute. You are pretty shy, and haven't really said much in nursery, but lately the leaders have said you're coming out of your shell and talk a lot more, and sometimes don't stop! That doesn't surprise me! You love to talk at home, and in the car. You get really upset if we don't answer right away.
Your favorite things to do right now are play with your cars, your train (Thomas the Train), pretend with everything you have. You love to play with Amber, and do what ever she likes to do. You two play so well together. Yesterday we went to Carls Jr. for dad's birthday, and you and Amber played so well together in the play land. She would wait for you, you'd wait for her. She helped you up on all the climbing docks because they were a little too tall for you, and you needed her to boost you up, and pull you up. You two rarely fight, only when one of you won't share. You are so kind though, and will always share your toys. You are quick to say "here you go, it's your turn now." I hear you say that daily. You let Amber play with your gun and garbage truck today. I told you you didn't have to, it was your birthday and sharing wasn't required on your birthday. You still did though, and didn't even think twice about it.
You are such a good kid, and such a joy in my life. I am so grateful for you, and don't know what I'd do with out you! I just love you so much and you honestly put such a gigantic smile on my face every single day. You have such a cute way of expressing yourself. I recorded a lot of you today because I just want to capture you and your innocence while you have it. I hope you had a happy birthday. It was a fun day for us.
