Happy 4th Birthday Parker!

All you wanted for your birthday was a motorcycle and a garbage truck. You already have a garbage truck, so we got you the motorcycle, but we also got you this cool Rescue Hero toy set. It has a huge helicopter, boat, fire truck, motorcycle and rescue hero's (fire fighters). You and Amber have been in heaven playing with them. You also got some new pajama's, a hat, and two little skateboards that you can change the wheels and add stickers too.

We had breakfast cake too, which you always enjoy!

For your dinner, you weren't giving me any ideas on what to make that night! I had been asking you for days and days what you'd like me to make for your birthday dinner. You wouldn't give me any ideas! I even tried giving you a few suggestions: chicken rolls, chicken & rice, spaghetti, lasagna, taco's, burritos, etc. You finally said "meatballs and noodles" so I thought sweet and sour meatballs. You LOVE pineapple so I thought it'd be perfect. About 2 days before your big day, I reminded you that's what you wanted, and you said "no, not anymore!" So we were back to square one. I had you look through one of my cookbooks, and you came up with "Hallowieners." It is supposed to look like a snake over a hotdog. So that's what I did! You loved it and helped put the eyeballs (or raisins!) in. You also wanted green Jell-O and an Iron Man cake.

You had quite the party that night. Mandy, Spencer, Will and Cole came, Lisa, Emily, Katie and Avery came, Carrie, Taten, Kiley, Emily and Andy came, and Ryan, Emily, Bailey, Jackson and Kaitlyn Loveland came. We had a house full! Carrie's family brought you balloon's that you could blow up, that were HUGE! They were super long! Everyone was blowing them up and letting them go, so they were squealing through the house. It was very loud! Everyone was having a blast though, especially playing with all your new toys. Jackson Loveland gave you a little toy from the movie "How to Train your Dragon." We all sang happy birthday to you and had cake and ice cream. You loved your Iron Man cake, but only ate the frosting! You licked it clean! I should have taken a picture of it. It was this perfectly square, perfectly white piece of cake! It made me laugh. You didn't even touch your ice cream!

The next day you got quite sick, and have been sick for about 6 days now. You have had a super high fever for several days now with a pounding headache, and have had three TERRIBLE bloody noses. You also have a sore little bum too. It has been a rough couple days! I hate it when you're sick. You are so sad and mellow. You have taken a nap every day this week. On Wednesday, you said to me "Mom, I just want to go in my bed." So we went up there and snuggled for about 1 minute before you fell asleep.

You are loving school so much. You are so excited on school days and never worry about going. You always look forward to school. You love to imagine things exploding, moving fast, falling off cliffs, etc. You just love to pretend, and I love to watch you pretend. You really have such a cute imagination. As I mentioned previously, you really don't eat much. You typically have "circle toast" (which is an English Muffin) with butter and cinnamon, or cereal (Honey Bunches of Oats, Mini Wheats, or Oatmeal). For lunch you'll eat either a corn dog/hot dog, pb & j, or mac & cheese. For dinner, we're lucky if you eat anything! You really don't ever eat more than three bites of what ever we're having. I can't think of one thing you like to eat for dinner! Isn't that sad? I don't offer you substitutes though, so if you don't eat, you won't get anything else.

We had a doctor check up this past week. You are growing healthy and weigh 34 pounds and are 40 inches tall. At your three year check up you weighed 31 pounds and were 39 inches tall, so you are growing. They told us you are in the 25th percentile for weight, and 50th for height.

When you get tired, you love to go to sleep. I already mentioned it a little above, but it happens all the time! You will be playing and then all the sudden say "Mom, I want to go in my bed and go to sleep." You did it just last night. It was only 7:00, but you'd rather be comfy in your bed rather than play with toys. I think you'll be just like your dad! Early to bed, early to rise! You got a new book for your birthday Critter Cafe and you have really enjoyed reading it over and over again. You also love for me to tell you stories. I can think of some pretty crazy stories sometimes, and I love to see your face as you picture it in your mind. You get a little "half smile" that shows your missing tooth. It really is the cutest thing.

You are such a shy little kid at times. When people try to talk to you that you don't know, you bury your head in to me with a huge smile on your face like you're super embarrassed. It happened today! We were Christmas shopping, and you wanted to be with Dad on the other half of the store, so I told you to go find him while I waited in line to pay. Before I knew it, the store was paging "we have a little lost boy looking for his Dad." Dad didn't know you were looking for him, and I didn't notice what they had said over the intercom system. I heard one of the workers say "I didn't hear what that announcement said" and another worker said "something about a lost little boy" I said out loud to them both, "it's probably mine!" and sure enough I look over to the left and there you were in the arms of one of the workers at GAP. You had this bashful face and wouldn't look at me. It's like you were embarrassed to see me! I immediately took you from her and had a huge smile on my face because you were literally the cutest thing around. There were about 5 workers there all smiling at you because you really are the cutest thing ever. It made you so shy. You literally buried your face deep into my vest and wouldn't look at anyone. It was cute. I'm just glad they found you! I would have FREAKED out if you were missing. I couldn't go one day without my Parkie!

You and I are buds. You prefer me to get you dressed, tuck you into bed, read you stories, etc. I love it! Although, when I get mad at you (when you throw fits, etc.) you scream for Daddy. So you do love your Daddy to! You really are the cutest little kid. On the morning of your birthday I said "Parker, quit growing up! I told you to stop growing!!!" You gave me the cutest little smile. I can't even describe it, but it was so dang cute, almost like you enjoy that little bit of attention.

We went to Rodizio Grill over the weekend to celebrate Dad's birthday, and you came too. We had a little date! It was awesome. I loved every second of it, and you did too. You were just hyper and so happy to have Dad and me to yourself. You loved so much of the food, and ate about 10 pieces of pineapple. You loved the Lime Drink as well, and drank most of mine. You ate a little bit of the meat there as well, and the bread and banana. We may just make that a tradition and take you and Dad there every year. It was a great way to end your birthday celebration.

I really wish I could freeze you in this time frame. I love this 3-4 year old you. You say the cutest things, your little voice is so cute, you have such a fun imagination, and you are so good (most of the time!). We had an episode at church on Sunday that was really bad...we went home after 30 minutes and you were sent straight to bed! You were freaking out because I didn't bring fruit snacks. So you had your tantrum and made a gigantic scene until we left. When we got home I literally sent you up to your room without any snack/water/potty break, etc. You stayed in there until after 2:00, so that was about 4 hours! You eventually fell asleep, but anyway, it was quite a moment for us all! But given that tantrum, I still wish I could freeze frame you in this stage of life. I love every single thing about you and think you really are the cutest, sweetest, kindest, funniest little boy ever!

Happy 4th Birthday!!!

Halloween & Fall

We had an interesting Halloween this year. It wasn't too cold, but it was wet and rainy! We had made plans to leave with the Martinez' around 5:00/5:30 to go trick-or-treating. We made it up there around 5:45. Just as we got out of the car, it started to POUR! Literally pour! We had an umbrella for everyone, but it was nuts. Dad got a work call at the last second, so he wasn't able to come right away. We left and brought Molly too, so I had all three of you I was trying to protect with the umbrella, Molly who was out of control hyper and pulling me in all directions, and our stroller that was broken and when we'd go over bumps or gutters it would collapse with Aubrey inside. It was seriously INSANE!!! I was going nuts not to mention the crazy rain and wind that was just pouring down. We made it to a couple houses on Sovereign, and a couple on Olympic, and decided to call it quits. At that time Dad was done with work stuff and met up with us at the car. We decided to drive to a few more homes in the neighborhood and then up to Abby Pohlman's Mom's house, Marsha Rogers to finish out our evening. Marsha dresses up at a witch every Halloween and has a brew on her front porch that has all sorts of crazy things in it (pickled tongue, worms, rat tails, mice, eye balls, etc.). You were a little scared of the snakes and rats and the witch brew, and of the werewolf (Max's uncle Chad dressed up as a werewolf). We went inside afterwords and ate a little Taco Soup and bread sticks (you ate Mac and Cheese!). You and Max played downstairs with toys for a couple hours while we watched the U game upstairs.

You were being a little shy at first and didn't want to get a picture. I tried to get you to put on your mask, but you weren't ready to do that yet!

Here you are in your mask. You had a Halloween Party at preschool, so this is just before you left for preschool at Mandy's.

If I would let you, you'd eat all your candy in one shot. You LOVE candy! I don't know if you love it as much as me (I don't know if anyone does!). I feel badly limiting you on eating it, but seriously if I didn't say "only three pieces" you'd eat every single piece until it was gone. I asked you what your favorite candy you got was, and you told me M&M's and your skeleton sucker.
You had decided on Iron Man long ago. I actually bought a few costumes and stashed them and asked you want you wanted to be, giving you a choice of Iron Man, Spiderman, or Mr. Incredible. You never changed your mind, it has always been Iron Man. You sure looked cute and grown up. You were even a trooper during the crazy rain. You really didn't complain at all! You didn't even ask to get in the stroller (which is unusual!). So although you didn't get as much candy as you could have, you still had a great night!

We went for a drive a few weeks ago to admire the fall colors. We tried our best to get some pictures of the everyone, however just as we got out of the car it started to rain (not to mention we had to wake you up) so we didn't get one of the three of you, but did get individual pictures. It was such a beautiful drive! We went up Payson Canyon and saw where Dad spent his summer scouting for Elk (and where he eventually got one). The colors were all so beautiful and bright. I wished the weather would have cooperated more so we could get more pictures.

You weren't too happy to pose for a picture. Can you see the raindrops on your sweatshirt? This was just before it started to down pour!

First Day of Preschool!

Parker you started preschool today! You were so excited to go to "Miss Mandy's" (Aunt Mandy actually). We had an assessment last week where you two met and she asked you some questions to see what you already knew (rhyming, colors, sorting, letters, numbers, words, etc.). It was really fun to see what you knew (colors, sorting, numbers) and what you need work on (rhyming, recognizing words and some letters & the sounds they make). Mandy said you are right on track to where you should be as a pre-schooler.

You had a good first day. You were in charge of bringing the snack today, and it needed to start with the letter "P". I asked you what we should bring and you kept saying "donuts, candy, ..." nothing that started with "P". I started suggesting "P" snacks like pickles, pancakes, pineapple, popcorn, Popsicles, etc. and you said "POPCORN!" so we did. It was a huge hit because there was none left when you got home.

You get to be in school with your cousin Will, and friends Max Pohlman, Creed Lorenzon, Jake Crowe and a few others you'll get to know better I'm sure. You looked so big and all grown up with your backpack on. You picked that out all by yourself. Of course you picked the rolling one! It's about your size! You love it and that's all that matters.

During our "Photo shoot" you found a potato bug and were just too curious.

I love this silly face you're making.

SO excited to go, and so proud of yourself!

We had to get a picture of your backpack, and Amber wanted one too. Aubrey came right over; she didn't want to miss out on anything so she got in the picture too!
I took this because it's just so typical. We're tyring to get cute photos and the first thing you do (literally, this was the first picture) is put your finger in your nose!
I sure love you bud. You make me smile every day! I wish you'd stop growing! I just want to freeze this time forever.
